Halvzies Terms of Service

Welcome to Halvzies. By using the app you're agreeing to these Terms. They're meant to be short and clear — if anything is confusing, email support@halvzies.app.

1. Who can use Halvzies

You must be at least 17 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you're using Halvzies on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to bind it.

2. Your account

• You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that underlying account secure — we treat whoever is signed in as you.
• You're responsible for what you post and what you agree to with other members.
• One account per person. Don't impersonate anyone, including other Halvzies members.

3. Halvzies is a coordination tool, not a party to your trade

Halvzies helps neighbors find each other and agree on a split. We don't buy, sell, warehouse, or deliver any goods, and we don't handle your money. How you split the cost is between you and the other member. We encourage meeting in public and keeping records.

4. How you're expected to behave

Be a kind, honest neighbor. That means you won't:

• Harass, threaten, dox, or discriminate against anyone.
• Post spam, solicitations, resale arbitrage, or anything unrelated to a genuine household split.
• Post anything illegal, counterfeit, age-restricted (e.g., prescription drugs, alcohol to minors), or dangerous.
• Lie about your identity, location, or what you're actually buying.
• Use Halvzies for organized reselling, wholesale resale, or commercial activity.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to bypass our rate limits, security, or moderation.
• Upload content you don't have the right to post, or images of people who haven't consented.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, including accounts reported by other members.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give Halvzies a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, transmit, and distribute your content as needed to operate the app (including showing your profile and posts to other members and processing them on our infrastructure).

You confirm your content doesn't infringe anyone else's rights and doesn't include personal information of others without their consent.

6. Purchases, payments, and disputes

Halvzies doesn't process payment between members. If you agree to split a cost, how you settle up (cash, Venmo, Zelle, etc.) is your responsibility. We're not responsible for payment disputes, no-shows, damaged goods, expired products, or unmet expectations. If something goes wrong, work it out with the other member — and if they're behaving badly, report them.

7. Safety

Meeting strangers carries risk even in familiar neighborhoods. We strongly recommend meeting in a public place (the Costco entrance works well), trusting your instincts, and not sharing your exact home address. Halvzies isn't liable for anything that happens offline, but we take reports seriously.

8. Termination

You can delete your account anytime under Profile → Delete account. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, put other members at risk, or use the app in a way that harms the service.

9. Disclaimers

Halvzies is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose. Members post their own content and we don't verify claims, photos, or prices. Apple is not a provider of Halvzies.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Halvzies and its operators aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising out of your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim won't exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim — and since Halvzies is free, that's usually zero.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes must be filed in the state or federal courts of San Francisco County, California, unless a consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.

12. Changes

We'll update the date above whenever we change these Terms. If the change is significant, we'll give you advance notice in-app. Continuing to use Halvzies after an update means you accept the new Terms.
